I'm overwhelmed with the technology. There is so much information out there, and so many schools, and school divisions have done so much with it already. I see it as a major shift in teacher professional development to implement technology, life long learning and the responsibility of learning in students. This is the way students really want to be learning.
I really am overwhelmed with the technology. I wonder if I will be able to contribute to my group. I think the whole inquiry process is very exciting, but for me right now I have to admit the technology is a very steep learning curve!!!
I think a classroom environment that encourages a lot of class discussion and sharing of ideas in class groups, small groups and pairs is a beginning in fostering an environment where students feel free to discuss and question.
What are essential questions and why are they important?
Essential questions are the key to unlocking the doors for the students to begin their inquiry. The question will guide them into their area of study and guide their learning.

I don't know if I am any further ahead than I was. I'm feeling the same frustration. I know there are many approaches to begin planning such a unit and I know it is important to get to that point in my learning, but I guess I am looking for more direction still. Will I have something to contribute to in this next two days.
At the end of the day, I am tired from thinking, but I feel much better that we have gone throught the process together of beginning to write our inquiry unit. It is really different to approach the unit this way. I am learning a lot. I like the way the new curricluum is set out and the way we can highlight the nouns and verbs from our outcomes to plan our activities and our assessments.

At the end of today I feel that we have accomplished quite a bit and I am understanding the process of building the inquiry unit and what it involves. It is a lot of thinking and discussing and negotiating in the group to refine and tweak our ideas to get a well written unit that will work for us all.

We had a rough day today with our unit planning, Our topic is difficult, but we can persevere with it I think.
We need to do some rethinking.

This has been really tough this past few days, one step forward and then back, back. We need to put our thoughts into our unit to make
it teacher friendly to share it with others in our division.

Inquiry is a valid framework to work in because it is differentiated instruction, with learning relevance as the key focus in the classroom.
